After the season opener in Daytona Beach, Fla., American Flat Track heads north for a new event on the calendar – the Atlanta Short Track at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga. on Saturday, March 25. Atlanta fans will be treated to the roar of the AFT Twins class as they hit the 3/8-mile Georgia red clay for the first time, as well as catch a glimpse of the stars of tomorrow in the AFT Singles division.
Located just outside of Atlanta, the Dixie Speedway has also been voted as Georgia’s Premier Dirt Track and Tourist Destination by USA TODAY.
The last time the series visited the Peach State was on Sept. 29, 1974 in Albany where Rick Hocking took home the Grand National Championship victory on his Yamaha Racing on the Mile circuit. Hocking won two Grand Nationals that year with the second being in Gardena, Calif.
