American Flat Track kicks off Labor Day tradition in Springfield, Ill. with an AFT Singles battle at the Springfield ST on Saturday, Sept. 2.
The second weekend of the year with action-packed racing at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, this time the rising stars of professional flat track will take to the Short Track course for top honors in AFT Singles.
Like the TT, it’s also just steps away from the legendary Mile circuit, where the AFT Twins will race the following day.
The last time the pros raced on the Short Track course at the fairgrounds was in 2012 when Henry Wiles won the GNC1 (now AFT Twins) Main on a Kawasaki KX450F and Dan Bromley raced his KTM to a victory in the GNC2 class (now AFT Singles). But unlike 2012, this year’s running of the Springfield Short Track will only be AFT Singles event.
