The Barbershop

Thy Barber BBB 1

Thy Barber was established in London, May of 2014, a brand that started as a stream of Pop-up shops, working at events within the Kustom Kulture, Alternative and Tattoo scenes.

Headed by founder Frank Rimer and his right hand man Paul Harmer pushed their fledgling brand across Europe before a permanent shop ever existed, in the process creating a team of barbers across the UK who proudly represent Thy Barber within their own working environments.

Frank may be the founder but Paul played a huge part in the brands development over the last few years… Barbering has seen a massive rebirth, utilising social media as a networking device barbers from all around the world are showing their mutual respect for each others work, sharing pictures of haircuts, lifestyle and culture whilst encouraging each other to work in other shops doing guest spots. With nearly 20 years experience between them, Paul and Frank are rising through the ranks quickly.

Barbering is one of the oldest trades that still exists to this day, and Thy Barber keep the industry alive by stripping it back to how it used to be. Using traditional techniques, Paul and Frank replicate styles seen between 1900-1959, finishing each cut with straight razor to the back of the neck, a splash of cologne, and even a complimentary beer or glass of whiskey. Classic Straight Razor Shave, Hot & Cold towels, oils, badger hair shaving brushes is the best way for a man to relax. It’s the one service that “only a man can have” and what better way than to experience this than a session with Frank & Paul.

Even the chairs have history, the oldest dating back to 1931, made in Chicago. Frank & Paul have recreated a traditional barbershop atmosphere with vintage chairs, antique barbering memorabilia whilst Blues, Rock and Roll, Rockabilly and Psychobilly play through a Radiogram. The boys even work in the 1920s manner, facing the client away from the mirror., back then a man never watched himself get a haircut.

A man only used to let three men touch him, his doctor, his tailor… and of course his barber.

You can walk-in on a Saturday, but for a proper cut or shave from Tuesday to Friday contact Frank and Paul on 0203 602 5772 to make a reservation, or book online
