80's Influences
By Warwick - 06 Sep 11
Mike popped in for a brew on Saturday after a ride out on his RF900, a bike that he really loves. I must admit that it’s a model that I dismissed many years ago for no other reason than the, err, challenging styling.
There’s no getting away from the fact that the rear appears to be have designed by a different team to the front. It’s long, flat and at odds with the front. However, it’s different, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
It reminded me of the Lamborghini Design 90, built by the French company Boxer-Bike in 1986.
Apparently the RF designer was inspired by a Stingray he saw at an aquarium but both bikes owe more than a nod to Pininfarinas work on the Ferrari Testarossa.
I can’t miss the opportunity to show another Lamborghini, the much more recent V4 1000 render of Romaian Laurentiu Trifescu;
