Anvil's Indian Scout 'Shrimp'
By Ross Sharp - 12 Jul 18
It seems the world just can't get enough of flat tracking. Jared Mees, Shayna Texter & the gang are here in the UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend and a new Italian series is gathering momentum. Over The Top is Italy's first amateur series and last weekend Anvil Motociclette's Indian Scout Sixty, the 'Shrimp' took top honours in the over 750cc category.
The Scout's cast frame is tricky to customise so a new cromoly one was fabricated with specific flat track geometry. The centrally mounted rad was ditched in favour of two MX style units and a super slimline fuel tank was fitted to allow Anvil's pilot Vittorio Emanuele Marzotto to get forward and tame the Scout's heft. The exhaust is by Zard, suspension by Öhlins and the 19" wheels are from Alpina Raggi.
The Motorbeach Festival in Spain is the next outing for the 'Shrimp' and who knows, maybe we'll see it run in anger at a DTRA round this season. The half mile cushion track at Amman Valley, Wales would be interesting.....
