X-Axis Honda CBX750
By Ross Sharp - 04 Jun 18
British MXGP Champ and thoroughly nice bloke Billy MacKenzie has closed the chapter on his illustrious racing career to concentrate on building custom bikes, at this stage mostly Hondas. This 1984 CBX750 was exhibited by Honda as part of their display at Bike Shed London 2018 but it's our chums down under at Return of the Cafe Racers who have the scoop and more photos by Julian Clements. Which makes sense, Billy now splits his time between his native Scotland and New South Wales, Australia - lucky chap.
Up close this CBX has clearly been put together by someone used to the rigours and expectation of race machinery. But Billy isn't alone, he's partnered with road racing stalwarts Keith and Guy Amor who make sure X-Axis bikes go as well as they look.
