There have been many attempts to create a database of the ultimate riding roads but since the internet began we haven’t seen a library of routes anywhere near as good as Motorcycle-Diaries - the team behind some of the world’s best motorcycle press launches.

Alongside first hand accounts of the routes users have uploaded you’ll find stunning imagery to give a feel for the adventure ahead. There are also real blogs from real people travelling through some of the most wanderlust inducing terrain on the planet. Sure, a paper map is nostalgic but trying to decipher the roads less travelled from a bunch of coloured lines in 2D doesn’t compare to the stunning imagery and descriptions now available. And if a bit of inspiration is needed to nudge you out from behind your desk, check out the Motorcycle-Diaries Blog.

And perhaps the best feature is the ability to download GPX files straight into your sat nav device to ensure you don't miss a single turn or jaw-dropping landscape.

We’re partnering with Motorcycle-Diaries to share these adventures with you, and we'd like to encourage the Bike Shed's audience, members and fans to join the M-D community - life is too short to spend on rubbish roads

Here at the Bike Shed we need very little excuse to go and test riding experiences. Off-road or on a track, in the UK or further afield, we’ve been trialling some of the best known offerings over the past few years to see which we’d recommend to our members and followers. Here’s our shortlist that get the BSMC seal of approval. Which sounds rather pompous, but it’s not. We simply want to make sure that if you’re following a tour across Morocco or have dreamed of popping your race circuit cherry, then the whole experience should have a similar feel to one of our shows, track days or a visits to our Shoreditch HQ.
